CELEBRATE RECOVERY meets at the Nazarene Church on Tuesdays from 7:00-8:00 PM. CR is a faith-based 12-step program that includes 8 recovery principles that mesh with the 12 steps. We are a close-knit group that forms relationships as we encourage and support each other through the recovery/sobriety process. We will be starting over again with Step 1 on Tuesday, August 27, so if you are thinking about joining, this would be a good time to start. CR is also recognized as a valid group for your legal meeting requirements. For more information call the church at 775-3213 and leave a message.
So I booked Billy Stoops and Leanne Trevalyan (from Junkyard Jane) to come and perform in Republic on Sept. 27th as a duet. The only problem was I wasn't sure where I was going to put them, or what I was going to do with them. Well, I got it all figured out. I am going to make a fundraiser out of them! I want to raise money to buy our school's music program new guitars and other music equipment. I feel that Republic will really appreciate having Billy & Leanne performing in our little mountain town and with donations at the door, an auction and a bake sale, I can raise some serious money. I am working on getting sponsors now to cover costs, so ALL money raised will go straight to the cause. I am doing this all on my own so any donations and help would be appreciated! I need Bake Sale items and Auction items! The fundraiser will be held at The Republic Brewing Company on Friday, Sept 27th. Not sure what time yet. Watch for a poster soon!!
