I most certainly have "discovered" a wonderful photographer from the Okanagon, Ferry County area in Carleen Cochran. In this day and age where everyone seems to think they are "pros", few are. I don't think Carleen thinks she is a pro, however my decades in news photography tell me that Carleen is one of the best in a large are and we thank her for sharing her eyes with us!

My sister-in-law is visiting in Idaho with good friends. She moved to Spokane area last year and is enjoying her retirement. She has some loyalty difficulties. Our kids, her niece and 6 nephews are pretty much fans of the Seattle Seahawks. She, on the other hand is a San Francisco 49er fan. My wife and I don't watch pro football. We stick to college, with Notre Dame being our fav. So to continue, Patty (sis-in-law) called to ask when the 49'ers were playing. It was easy enough to look up but I had to do a double take as what I was reading sounded somehow wrong. Apparently the 49ers are playing in Wimbley Stadium, England and early as it is, the game was already in 3rd quarter but it isn't noon here. Well needless to say Patty thought we were kidding her. It took a bit for me to be able to grab the concept clear enough to make her believe, I have dozens of photographer friends in England and none had mentioned this to me. Apparently this is a try-out of sorts as England would like to get a franchise team to play in the American football league. Well....its true. What can I say. I am surprised that I have gotten this far....as for me now I am back to enjoying a good hearty breakfast of bangers and chips....Notre Dame won yesterday. I am pleased.

I was a Lou Reed fan...I lived in the same areas only a year prior or later from Lou. We had friends in similar circles and Lou is only 3 years older than myself. I have to go dig up my Lisa Law book which is replete with pics of Lou. He had plenty of suggestions on the starts and finish of the Diggers. Reed's wife, Laurie Anderson, told The Times of London this summer, that Reed had a life-saving liver transplant in May.Well there is your answer. So in some end ways we are also in that same old ballpark. I am in need of a liver transplant but die to Guillain Barre my only hope for a few good years was to lead a good clean life...which is what I'm doing. So far so good.

Weighing 245 pounds, George was in fact the runt of his litter when born but grew up to be recognized by Guinness World Records in 2010 not just as the World's Tallest Dog, but the Tallest Dog Ever.
