Here's the deal... We
need help building a 12 X 24 shed. We had just finished moving our
stuff home from storage following our house fire of 2011 when our
daughter was in a serious car accident. Now we need to make room for
her to come home and recover from her injuries, but we also need to
bring all her stuff home as well. So we need to build a shed here so we
can store our things until we get our lives back on track. The
building materials are paid for and will be delivered here. We also
have most the tools needed, but you may want to B.Y.O.H. *Hammer* if you
prefer. We mainly need semi-skilled labor to volunteer and help us put
it all together. We will feed you and try to keep you entertained.

Personally speaking, this editor has had many times to interact with Jeff and Lori. Wonderful folks who have always been there for the community offering their services free. These are giving folks. Now its time we helped pay them back and get a hot meal and some friendship to boot. This is the kind of stuff movies are made of......please come and help Jeff and Lori! Thanks...Bob Shannon
-Federal Government Shutdown Does Not Affect AMBER Alerts-
(Olympia)—The Washington State Patrol is reminding both the public and other law enforcement agencies that the AMBER Alert system is in full operation despite the shutdown of the federal government.
“We’re hearing of incorrect reports on both mainstream and social media about the status of the AMBER Alert System,” said Carri Gordon, AMBER Alert Coordinator for the Washington State Patrol. “The system is in full operation, and ready to help recover an abducted child.”
Although there is some federal coordination of the overall AMBER Alert program, each state has its own distribution system for alerts. Washington’s alerts are distributed by a private contractor that is in no way affected by the federal government shutdown.
Newly available in Washington are two additional alerts:
· Endangered Missing Person Advisories – allow law enforcement to seek the public’s assistance in locating missing persons when the disappearance does not fit the criteria for an AMBER Alert.
· Blue Alerts – provide information to the public to help locate suspects involved in assaulting or killing a police officer.
With a nose for the end zone early in his career, redshirt freshman wide receiver Cooper Kupp is already receiving notice on a national scale in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision.
The wide receiver from Yakima, Wash. (Davis HS ’12) is on the initial 20-player Watch List for the 2013 Jerry Rice Award presented annually by The Sports Network to the top freshman in FCS.
Just five games into his career, Kupp already has seven TD catches (seventh in FCS) on just 20 catches this season – a TD for every 2.9 catches so far this year. He is averaging 20.9 yards per catch, with 418 total yards.
Last week, in sixth-ranked EWU’s 41-19 win over Weber State, Kupp led the Eagles with five catches for 87 yards and a pair of first-quarter touchdowns. He had five catches for 119 yards and two touchdowns in his debut as an Eagle against Oregon State on Aug. 31.
“He has been as consistent as any young player I have seen,” said Eastern head coach Beau Baldwin earlier this season. “That is a tribute to his mental toughness. A lot of young players will show flashes, but they don’t have the consistency. That’s what we like about Cooper. We know he has talent and makes plays, but we like that he has consistent work ethic.”

Here's more fuel for the fiery debate over unpaid interns: It turns out they're also not protected from sexual harassment.
A New York federal district court ruled last week that Lihuan Wang, an intern at a TV broadcaster named Phoenix Satellite Television U.S., could not bring a sexual harassment claim under New York human rights laws because she was not paid, and therefore not considered an employee.
Rick Price and his Handy Canon
A Democratic Congressman mocked the GOP’s effort to demonize an IRS
official during a House Oversight Committee hearing on Wednesday by
asking her if she was a witch consorting with the devil.
The official, Affordable Care Act Office Director Sarah Hall Ingram, said in response to questioning from Rep. Gerald Connolly (D-VA) that she has never worked with the devil, could not fly, and was not responsible for perverting the youth “in Salem or anywhere else.”

What is alarming to me is, that the cost of healthcare has skyrocketed BECAUSE of Medicare refusing to PAY usual and customary fees for services rendered. Its because of that FACT alone which has caused Doctors and Hospitals to increase their fees to cover the LOSSES because Gov't was NOT paying its Bills! I can't imagine the validity of that Milliman report because it probably glossed over that fact...if you measure what Medicare PAID, vs what it was BILLED..... you'd see a completely different picture.
I do agree that this is about corruption to the core. However, in my analysis I also see the ACA as a nefarious plan to destroy the private healthcare industry completely....those private companies did lobby FOR ACA in absolute ignorance because they were led to believe that their premiums would go up, thus bringing them more profits....the sad reality is, people are pulling away from buying insurance BECAUSE the premiums have gone up...thus those private companies will go bankrupt as people will be forced, by the choice of costs to lower their incomes so they are eligible for the Medicare ACA plans instead. This also means the Income Taxes that Gov't is planning on will also go down. This is a downward spiral of epoch proportion! Planed obsolescence ~~ That's how I see it.
