With the government shutdown dragging on and a deadline to raise the
nation's debt ceiling just five days away, hope for a compromise to
break political gridlock in Washington shifted to the Senate Saturday
after talks between the White House and House Republicans collapsed.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Minority Leader Mitch
McConnell say they are working to broker a deal, although both sides
warn that those conversations are only in the preliminary stages. http://www.khq.com/story/23674728/shutdownrollson

Joe Bell of La Grande was killed Wednesday evening in Colorado while walking across America to honor his son and her half brother, Jadin Bell, a 15-year-old gay teen who committed suicide earlier this year.
Jadin Bell had been bullied. Joe Bell wanted to raise awareness.
“This was the only way he felt like he could grieve,” Gribling said.
Her father, 48, was well-loved.
“He had a big heart,” Gribling said. “He trusted everybody.”
He loved everybody, too, especially his kids, Gribling said.
Gribling, 31, is the oldest. She has a 27-year-old half brother who’s in the military, a 24-year-old half sister in Redding, Calif., and a 14-year-old half brother who lived with Joe Bell and Jadin in La Grande.
Joe Bell was devastated when Jadin died, Gribling said. So he decided to walk and talk and share his experiences with America. He called it Joe's Walk for Change and set up a Facebook page.
His family didn’t think it was such a good idea. He would be alone and vulnerable. All he had was a cart with a few belongings.
He was killed walking on the shoulder of U.S. 40 east of Colorado Springs, hit by a semi-truck. The driver, Kenneth Raven, 49, of Texas, was cited for careless driving. Apparently, Raven dozed off.
Leafly is a Seattle-based tech company that uses crowdsourced information about marijuana strains to provide a searchable database of those strains, what their effects are (good and bad), where you can get them now … and a lot more information. The company has agreed to let us at The Pot Blog use the aggregated expertise of their users to present an occasional gallery of marijuana strains.

Faster Construction
The log cabin goes up fast. You don't have to make any fancy cuts or notches. Scribe fit methods take a lot of time even for skilled workers. With this method, all the cuts are square cuts easily accomplished with a chain saw.The short logs also allow for faster construction because no heavy equipment is needed for lifting. One man or woman can move these logs around on their own. If the logs are allowed to dry the weight of each log is significantly reduced. If weight is very important, smaller logs can be used.http://www.alaskacabin.net/
Have you got any Lesus coins? If you did you might be a rich man or woman. The Vatican mis-spelled Jesus. Go figure. I mis-spell quite often but I'm not into minting my own coins..that would surely not go far...YET.
The worst though is an Ohio man who took off a decade ago because he couldn't pay child support. The wife had hi declared legally dead. Social Security had him dead for over 3 years, a magic number because when he returned he couldn't be declared undead. Nuts as it may be even the judge was scratching his head. Seeing as he is no alive but folks see him every day. World War Z would have him a perfect cast as a zombie. True story. Google it..
Some 1800;s Native American had a dream of a White Buffalo and a tribe made up of all colors which is how the Rainbow Family got their notion. I am looking for much bigger spring barter fairs if marijuana is still legal here in Washington. Tis fun watching folks play like this..after all its a game right. Don't tell God.
