These drills are good for the entry-level firefighter, and provide refresher for veteran firefighters as well. Want to know what it’s like? Consider climbing into heavy, steel shanked rubber boots, pull up a pair of triple layered, heat resistant, fire resistant bunker pants and slip the suspenders over your shoulders. Don that heavy duty, triple layered bunker coat with inner snaps and outer buckles. Pull that neck shroud over your head with only your face exposed. Fasten that face mask in place and assure it seals. Harness up in that 40 pound backpack frame with the air bottle with 2,000# of compressed air. Set the waist strap and then the shoulder harness. Adjust all the heavy duty buckles. Lock the air hose into the face mask. Take that first deep breath and the positive air-flow system pops into action. Check all the dials, pressure gauges. Get the heavy helmet on your head and buckle the chin strap. Don the heavy duty, fire resistant gloves. Pull down the face shield. The face shield if a critical part of the firefighter safety system. Not only does it provide a barrier to protect your face from impact with debris, when it starts to melt a firefighter can tell they are in too much heat and must exercise an escape route. Now your ready to go with over 70 extra pounds of gear on your body. Now your TPP, Thermal Protective Performance rating allows you to function in temperatures from 400 to 800* F.

To many the following may be nothing. To me it is about constantly proving mainstream doctors wrong. With  Guillain Barre, after 2 years, I am supposed to have gotten as better as I was going to get. At two years I was still mainly using a walker or forearm crutches and increased my steps a few days a week.

One day I saw a video a home video of a young Muslim boy in Nepal. It was hard to watch with me not being able to walk without assistance. But this young boy told his wife to keep the camera on. All of a sudden with no warning, not a word, he got up from his chair and started walking for first time in 3 years. He kept walking, while his wife told him to sit flown he was going to keep walking. I cried...and I cried...he planted a seed in me, a Muslim.

Two weeks later,I was sitting on the toilet, flushed it and got up walking  4 steps to wash my hands. It felt unusual different. I got into my chair and went to the living room. I told my wife to come over. Without a word I got up and walked 15 steps with no help. Jane was as shocked as I was. I ask her to get the video camera. She did and I walked 30 feet and back 30 more before severe pain kicked in. I have it on video. From that date, March 27, 2012, I never walked with a walker again. I began walking further and further. On this day I can walk 1200 steps in my house. It all started with Nasim Ansari. A Muslim man of courage. I knew my Lord Jesus Christ threw the Father, a Son and Holy a Spirit were with me. And maybe they were behind Nasim as well.

This hatred -- real or imagined -- that football fans and we in the media have ginned up between Seattle and San Francisco is odd. We're talking two West Coast cities with lots of hills, breathtaking views, liberal politics and questionable weather. Both are earthquake-prone and can trace at least some of their rise to the discovery of gold. (Yukon in Seattle's case, for you Californians.) So let us take a look at both and determine, from a Seattle perspective, which city might just come out on top.
