ABANDONED CAT: Someone tossed this cat out of a greenish-grayish older model Subaru wagon as it drove slowly past the shelter at about 11:45 this morning. Obviously, we don't know if the person who tossed it out was the owner, or just someone who felt like tossing someone else's cat out without going through proper channels (so, if it is a lost cat, now we don't even know where to advertise to try to find its owner because we don't know where it came from). If it's the first case, we'd love to file abandonment charges against the owner, so any info would be appreciated. If it's the second case, we'd love to get this kitty back to its rightful owner - spread the word, maybe someone is missing their best friend. People. Sheeeeeeesh.

The Trail Downtown Opportunities and Action Committee, wants to add a visual impact to the city's recent downtown improvements.
The committee is working on gaining councils support to have year round lights on the Victoria Street Bridge.
Chair Mike Martin believes the bridge lighting project will create a visual attraction with immediate positive impact.
The project would see 225 LED lights on the bridge that would be able to change colours throughout the year or to reflect a community event.
The DOAC recently presented the 390-thousand dollar project to council, Martin says they are looking for 180-thousand dollars from the city, and will fund the rest of it through corporate sponsorship.
