I saw that and more. Once things pick up steam they pull along a bit of fiction. I was reading something more conservative on Pacific NW Seismic Network, then got off track where one fella BLOGGED that the Governor had put put Mt Lassen on Emergency Alert….and another that swore the whole North section of California was going in with Nevada and Oregon to open up “a caldera never heard of before i size”. Good grief.

Police say officers shot and killed a 34-year-old Pasco man brandishing a knife during a confrontation.
The Tri-City Herald reports that officers were called to a residence just after midnight Tuesday with reports of a man armed with a knife.
Capt. Jim Raymond says two officers confronted the man but he refused to put down the knife. The officers shot the man and he died at the scene.

Guard Kevin Pangos was slowed last season by toe and ankle ailments, but still managed to be named to the all-West Coast Conference team.
This year, the senior is healthy and anxious to lead deep and talented No. 13 Gonzaga to its 17th consecutive NCAA tournament appearance.
"I took a lot of time off in the summer," said Pangos, who was diagnosed last year with turf toe, which made it extremely painful to make his quick moves. "My feet are feeling great and it feels good to run properly again."
Gonzaga has won 80 percent of its games in 15 seasons under coach Mark Few. But hopes are higher than normal for this team, which boasts several returning starters and some intriguing newcomers.

A horrifying incident for a resident on the North Shore of Nelson.

In the early morning hours this week, RCMP say a cougar attacked and carried off the owner's 10 week hold Rottweiller puppy, just 10 feet from their residents...police say the cougar didn't appear to be afraid of the owner yelling at it.

RCMP haven't located the cougar and they're reminding residents to be aware of the big cat, for the safety of their family and pets.

WildsafeBC Community Coordinator Joanne Siderious says she has trail cameras up, and they're picking up cougars, and there have also been other residents in the area that have lost dogs to cougars in the area, and who have seen cougars in town in Nelson.

She says often what happens is they're following the deer into town, and it's important residents don't feed deer to keep the big cats out of the community.

WEEKEND FLARES, ALMOST GUARANTEED: Since it emerged last week, sunspot AR2205 has produced more than a dozen strong flares. The active region has an unstable 'beta-gamma-delta' magnetic field that seems all but certain to erupt again this weekend. NOAA forecasters estimate a 70% chance of M-class flares and a 30% chance of X-flares on Nov. 8th.
