U.S. Bureau of Land Management officials say all but one of 97 new oil and gas leases offered at auction in Nevada went unsold because of uncertainty about future protection of the sage grouse.
About two dozen anti-fracking protesters rallied outside the Reno auction Tuesday against the energy exploration they say would be conducted with hydraulic fracturing that threatens Nevada's groundwater.

A tribal appeals court has dismissed a lawsuit against the Colville Business Council over how a $193 million settlement with the federal government will be spent.
Yvonne L. Swan, a member of the tribe, and a group called “Colville Members for Justice” sought to have all of the settlement distributed to tribal members through per capita payments.
The tribal council instead chose to distribute half of the settlement to members. They passed a resolution to spend the remaining money on economic development and cultural preservation programs. The plan allowed for a tribal language endowment fund, land purchases, forest restoration planning, community development and health and wellness goals, among other things.

Detainees were sodomized while subjected to "rectal rehydration" and "rectal feeding"

A number of detainees who refused to eat and drink were delivered food and water through IV tubes that were inserted in their rectums — sometimes forcefully.
CIA officers were "impressed with the ancillary effectiveness of rectal infusion" and found that the "flow" oftentimes self-regulated, "sloshing up the large intestines.

"Today we had a wonderful visit so different than last night. He wanted to talk of God and I called him one of God’s Warriors and he shook his head and a tear ran down the corner of his left eye. To anyone overhearing we would have been thought a bit crazy but we know what we’re talking about. So apparently there were fights in Heaven last night. We had a beautiful moon with extremely fast moving clouds moving past it and I thought of Jesus arriving in the clouds and said a prayer to God and Bob His servant. I told Bob that when he had asked to be around at the end times- he knew it wouldn’t be easy. The devil is strong."
