"Facts don't cease being facts just because they're ignored"

A California man who fell about 35 feet down a crevasse in Glacier National Park was able to get back out and hike more than 2 miles back to a campground and was airlifted out the next morning. No. He wasn't high, as in the mind however in a few months...Marijuana shops may be coming to your part of the Lilac City, as Washington State's Liquor Control Board has approved eight stores for Spokane and a total of 18 shops across Spokane County. Climbing and toking is a no`no. And speaking of Janesvile, Wisconsin, that is where the White Buffalo was born a few years ago. Rich in Native American history of healing and coming together, it apparently didn't hit everyone in town as, in the town Janesville police have arrested a couple on numerous drug charges after they executed a search warrant at their home Tuesday.  But then the buffalo started turning darer shades so it may not have been the prophecied white buffalo. Who knows...the world is changing and with kids killing kids and young kids having babies and abortion rampant....those folks who held placards saying the end was near eons ago may have missed their mark...it seems to be getting closer don'tcha think?
Did I forget? We are proud members of the NPPA

OK...now I'm hearing some grumblings about bobshannon.org as opposed a BLOG. After all I did say I wasn't a Blogger BUT we got real tired of spending money on a new computer made in some Chinese off shot by little kids not getting paid enough. After many years of thou and a quite successful track record by Apple, we bought an Apple MacBook Pro. That's a new operating system. No DOS any longer and no breaking of computers every year. This left us wondering what to do about updating my DOS website which is massive. Answer? A Blog. It's easier to update. I can update it from anywhere I want because of an ATT LTE Mini iPad. So out in the fields of flowers I can show folks whats gong on the minute it happens. Of course I have to be there to take pictures and my wheelchair only goes 3 miles. I now depend on my reporters, Ron Rattray, that nice lady who really works for The Ferry County View, Rick Price who is a big raw and an amazing man...and and Blanche. Bobby Whittaker has disappeared. I hear nothing from him Perhaps he changed his email addy or perhaps I printed a wrong pic at a bad time. Sorry wayward Bobby. We miss you. Come home.

After almost two years in Spokane County Jail, career criminal Frank Uhyrek might be going stir-crazy. At least the 350-foot rope that guards found hidden in his torn mattress last month points to that. Jail staff say Uhyrek was collecting bits of sheets, jumpsuits and rags and tying them together to form the rope, presumably to crawl through his window to freedom about 12 stories below. OH! Just so you know, Spokane Valley won't bid on Painted Hills. I heard the paint comes off every few years and now that the painters re unionized and Spokane doesn't even pay its cops a decent wage for killing and beating folk, they most certainly can't pay to paint a whole bunch of hills.

Says one headline ....U.S. factory orders post sharpest decline in four months... wow what a surprise. We go into the Dollar Store or to Macy's and all we see is Made in China. My cousin generations ago was Mr Macy himself. He would be rolling in his grave. Of course there are not orders. What factories that are left, are selling at extreme high prices. They will NOT pay higher wages thus no jobs...they too gone overseas while all we get back is a giant pile of nuclear infused rubble from Fukishma.

Respond to Pope Francis' urgent call for peace in Syria, the Middle East and the whole world by participating in a day of prayer and fasting Sept. 7.

What kind of canned tuna will you be buying. Gosh folks said for months that all would be well. I tell ya if that groundwater filled with the stuff bombs are made of, ever gets into the ocean...welll...lets just read about what might happen...You make vows and break them;  you kill and steal and commit adultery.  There is violence everywhere-  one murder after another.  That is why your land is in mourning,  and everyone is wasting away.  Even the wild animals, the birds of the sky,  and the fish of the sea are disappearing."

The survey, led by seismologist Lucile M. Jones, recruited more than 150 specialists from universities, state and local governments and coastal industries for the massive scenario project. A tsunami spawned by a huge Alaskan earthquake could hit the California coast at any time and cause at least $10 billion in damage across the state, teams of scientists warned Wednesday.

The disaster would force at least 750,000 people to evacuate flooded areas, destroy port facilities in the Bay Area and Los Angeles, and send water surging up creeks, harbors and canals everywhere, the scientists said.

The scenario described by experts at the U.S. Geological Survey and scores of state and national specialists proposes a "hypothetical but plausible" event caused by a magnitude 9.1 quake. An Alaskan quake of that strength would cause waves up to 24 feet high that would batter California's low-lying coastal areas with only a few hours of warning, the scientists said.

Disaster planners who have worked for years assessing potential tsunami damage to California were spurred to update their 2009 flood maps and damage assessments by the magnitude 9 Japanese earthquake and tsunami in 2011 that flooded the Fukushima nuclear power plant and has left the devastated region still fearing radiation.

Waves from that tsunami rolled across the Pacific and caused $50 million to $100 million in damage along the California coast, the planners noted.

"Although this pales in comparison to the loss of lives and property in Japan," the Geological Survey's authors wrote, "the U.S. government must ask whether California, and the national economy, will someday face worse consequences from other distant-source tsunamis. Unfortunately, the answer is 'yes.' "
