MINNEAPOLIS: In the wake of the Trent Richardson trade, the Browns found a spark on offense and upset the Minnesota Vikings 31-27 on Sunday at the Metrodome.
With Brian Hoyer taking control at quarterback and wide receiver Josh Gordon back from his two-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy, the Browns scored more points than their first two games combined. The Browns (1-2) were shut out in the second half until Hoyer delivered a dagger against the Vikings (0-3) in the clutch.

Live out in the sticks? Feeding the dog for a neighbor a few acres over yonder? Maybe making a quick run to the country store for a quart of milk? It would be tempting to hop on your ATV to make that short run.
Alas, while many do just that, it’s technically illegal to do so in Spokane County at this time.
However, legislators in the last session – led by Rep. Matt Shea of Spokane Valley’s 4th District – passed House Bill 1632, which allows Washington’s counties with a population of over 15,000 to pass laws allowing ATVs to use public roadways that have posted speed limits of 35 mph or less.

Two teenagers -- 13 and 14 years old -- are in custody in Spokane, Washington, and the mother of one of the teens is recuperating in a hospital after she was attacked by the boys following a pill-taking episode, authorities said.
The boys apparently had planned to kill the woman, who is the 13-year-old's mother, and eat her liver, Spokane County Sheriff's Deputy Craig Chamberlin told CNN Friday.
"The 14-year-old came up with the idea of, 'Hey, let's rip her open and eat her liver,' but it never happened," said Chamberlin. Instead, the older boy allegedly beat the woman with the handle of a sword, Chamberlin said, adding, "I think that was their original plan, to cut her open, but then they changed their minds."
