A chilly Arctic summer has left nearly a million more square miles of ocean covered with ice than at the same time last year – an increase of 60 per cent.
The rebound from 2012’s record low comes six years after the BBC reported that global warming would leave the Arctic ice-free in summer by 2013.Instead, days before the annual autumn re-freeze is due to begin, an unbroken ice sheet more than half the size of Europe already stretches from the Canadian islands to Russia’s northern shores.

There's a pretty clear line on what constitutes a selfish penalty, and Frank Alexander checked every box on the selfish penalty list for the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
Throwing punches is never good in football. It's probably not going to serve its intended purpose, and when is the last time you saw someone get away with it? Well, that didn't stop Alexander, who socked Seahawks offensive lineman Breno Giacomini.
Big surprise, but Alexander was caught, given a 15-yard penalty and ejected. Well done.
The scene on the Panthers sideline wasn't pretty. Coach Ron Rivera and receiver Steve Smith (it's strange how he has become a team leader railing on guys for throwing punches, right?) went ballistic on Alexander, as they should have.
The only good news for Alexander is that later in that drive at the end of the first half, Panthers end Charles Johnson bailed him out by getting a strip sack on Russell Wilson and recovering the fumble.

The farmers state that Monsanto has been unfairly gathering exorbitant profits each year on a global scale from “renewal” seed harvests, which are crops planted using seed from the previous year’s harvest.
The practice of using renewal seeds dates back to ancient times, but Monsanto seeks to collect massive royalties and put an end to the practice. Why? Because Monsanto owns the very patent to the genetically modified seed, and is charging the farmers not only for the original crops, but the later harvests as well. Eventually, the royalties compound and many farmers begin to struggle with even keeping their farm afloat. It is for this reason that India slammed Monsanto with groundbreaking ‘biopiracy’ charges in an effort to stop Monsanto from ‘patenting life’.

Carolina got a 13-yard sack against Seattle, which would have set up a third and 20. But that's when Alexander, a Panthers defensive end, decided to take matters into his own hands and started throwing punches.
Big surprise, but Alexander was caught, given a 15-yard penalty and ejected. Well done.

So Alexander didn't cost the Panthers any points, but it's safe to say he hasn't heard the last of his bonehead action.

Launching a lawsuit against the very company that is responsible for a farmer suicide every 30 minutes, 5 million farmers are now suing Monsanto for as much as 6.2 billion euros (around 7.7 billion US dollars).
The reason? As with many other cases, such as the ones that led certain farming regions to be known as the ‘suicide belt’, Monsanto has been reportedly taxing the farmers to financial shambles with ridiculous royalty charges. The farmers state that Monsanto has been unfairly gathering exorbitant profits each year on a global scale from “renewal” seed harvests, which are crops planted using seed from the previous year’s harvest.
