Sunday there was snow
Suspects:
Suspect #1:
Name: Daniel Lucas Bowes
Age: 29
Address:
City/State: Covelo, Ca
On 12-22-2013 at approximately 0630 hours, a male subject wearing a hooded black jacket and wearing a bandana on his face, walked into the Hidden Oaks Convenience Store in Covelo, California.
The store had just opened for business. The subject walked up to the clerk as she counted money for the cash register. The subject pointed a sawed-off shotgun or rifle of some kind at her and demanded she give him the money.
As the clerk leaned backwards away from him, the suspect grabbed the money from the counter-top. The subject threatened to kill the clerk if she called law enforcement and then fled on foot.
Mendocino County Sheriff's Deputies responded to investigate the incident and were assisted by personnel from the California Highway Patrol and California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
Sheriff's Deputies reviewed the store's surveillance camera video footage of the incident. The Deputies were assisted by an employee of the Round Valley Tribe in reviewing the footage to see if the subject's mannerisms, scars, tattoos or other personal traits would help to identify him, despite his covered face.
The tribal employee watching the video saw the subject's stature and distinct walk and told Deputies they believed the suspect to be Daniel Lucas Bowes, a local parolee wanted on a parole warrant.
Based on that information, a search was conducted of a residence Bowes had provided to his parole agent.
At the residence on Little Lake Way in Covelo, Daniel Bowes was found inside a closet hiding under a pile of clothing on the floor.
An undisclosed amount of stolen money was located in the house, most of it under the pile of clothing where Bowes had been hiding.
A 20 gauge break-action shotgun was found between a mattress and box spring. It had been illegally sawed-off to a length of approximately 15 inches.
Bowes was arrested for the parole warrant, armed robbery, possession of a weapon and ammunition by a felon, possession of a prohibited weapon (a short barreled shotgun) and being armed while in commission of a felony.
Deputies interviewed Bowes and established further information to show he was the person who had committed the robbery as shown on the store’s surveillance footage.
Bowes was booked into the Mendocino County Jail where he was to be being held in lieu of a no bail status.

Colorado State shocks Washington State with 18 points in final 3 minutes
It was a dramatic comeback to open the bowl season and came as both quarterbacks threw for close to 800 yards combined. With less than 2 minutes left, Colorado State's Shaquil Barrett forced Cougars running back Jeremiah Laufasa to fumble at the Cougars 33. That set up Kapri Bibbs' 1-yard run scoring and Donnell Alexander's two-point conversion run that tied it with 33 seconds left.
Then, Washington State's Teondray Caldwell fumbled a kickoff return at the Cougars 24, setting up the winning field goal.
A fast start and fast finish was enough for the Tigers as they rallied from 10 points behind in the fourth quarter to stun Eastern Washington University in the semifinals in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision Playoffs Saturday (Dec. 21) at Roos Field in Cheney, Wash.
The Eagles had scored 31-straight points, including 17 in another dominating third quarter performance. But Towson, which went scoreless for 29:19 in the game, used touchdown drives of 75 and 71 yards in the final 5:09 to overcome a 31-21 Eagle lead, including the game winner with 17 seconds left.
"Today was two great teams, and it comes down to inches sometimes," said Eastern head coach Beau Baldwin. "Definitely when you are in the semifinals."
Towson, now 13-2 after winning its 12th-straight road game, advances to the NCAA Division I Championship Game against North Dakota State on Saturday, Jan. 4 at 11 a.m. Pacific time at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. The season ended for the Eagles at 13-2, as well as the team’s 10-game winning streak.
The Arizona Cardinals will play the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday in a huge game in the NFC Conference. This game is packed with postseason implications, and the Cardinals must defeat the best team in the NFL so far this season to maintain their hopes of snatching a postseason spot. The game will start at 4.05 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).

their NFL football game against the New England Patriots in Foxborough,
Massachusetts September 16, 2012.
The NFC West division is
immense this season, and it is extraordinary to believe that with just
two weeks of the season to go, three teams in the division are still
competing for playoff positions. At the moment the 12-2 Seattle Seahawks are top of the NFC West and are in the no. 1 seed position for the NFC Conference playoffs.
The 10-4 San Francisco 49ers are currently in second place in the division and occupy the 6th seed position for the playoffs, which at the moment would see them clinch a Wild Card spot.
Meanwhile, the 9-5 Arizona Cardinals are still on the outside looking in. They are third in the NFC West, and currently seeded 7th for the playoffs. They will need to win out the season to stand a chance of jumping into the postseason spots before the end of the year.
The Cardinals have had an immense season, and they will want to now go the final mile and clinch a place in the postseason schedule. They have claimed three wins from their last four games, their only blip coming against a Philadelphia Eagles team which was able to hold off Arizona in a 24-21 game.
Four Lakes Relaxing
To take advantage of the promotion of the Uber ride service, travelers do not need to be flying on Alaska Airlines.
Airline spokesman Joe Sprague says the airline is spreading a little holiday joy while encouraging people to try Uber on their smart phones.
During the two-day promotion, Uber rides will be charged to Alaska Airlines. People who live in Seattle's suburbs can get an almost free ride.

Lord Jesus,
Who came to dwell on Earth
And salvation to us bring,
I rejoice in Your holy birth,
O Savior, Lord and King.
With the heavenly choir
That joyous tidings brought,
I rejoice in Your desire
To dwell in every heart.
To see what had been told,
Shepherds went without delay;
I rejoice now to behold
Your gift of Christmas Day.
Amen.

Washington State Smokes About Twice As Much Marijuana As Previously Thought: Study
Washington state smokes about twice the amount of marijuana than previously thought, a new study claims.Federal data and survey information compiled by the Rand corporation puts yearly marijuana use in Washington state in the range of 135 metric tons to 225 metric tons during 2013, with 175 metric tons as the median estimate.
The Washington Office of Financial Management's assessment put state-wide use at 85 metric tons for 2013, but that estimate was based on federal data from 2008 and 2009.
Time reports that the difference in the estimates "very roughly" amounts to the difference between about 25 and 50 joints per resident each year.
