The following page is a full page of Watermelon Hill Fire. This was Kathy Meaders trip to the situation hence we decided to give her her open page.

"Drove out to the Watermelon Fire. Not much to see. Found a Curlew dirt back road into the fields. Acrea and acres of burnt grass. Cheney is 100% safe from this fire. They are basically letting it burn the grass and dumping where they don't want the fire to go." Bill Shannon

"Don't they grow red wheat down that way. I believe on the of workers long retired from Curlew School jumped on my when I get it wrong. Not white wheat but red wheat eh Kathy?" Bob

"Wheat and raise cattle, I think. The cows the folks were trying to move were gone near Hog Lake. They didn't want to gamble with the livestock. Fire didn't hit that section, although that's the area I saw trees explode . I would have tried to move them as well." Kathy
