"One Step Enough for Me
by Max Lucado
Arthur Hays Sulzberger was the publisher of the New York Times during the second World War. Because of the world conflict, he found it almost impossible to sleep. He was never able to get worries from his mind until he adopted as his motto these five words: “One step enough for me” . . .taken from the old hymn, “Lead Kindly Light.”
“Lead, kindly Light. . .
Keep thou my feet; I do not ask to see
The distant scene; one step enough for me.”
God isn’t going to let you see the distant scene either. So you might as well quit looking for it. He promises a lamp to our feet, not a crystal ball into the future. We don’t need to know what will happen tomorrow. We only need to know He leads us. As Hebrews 4:16 promises, “we will find grace to help us when we need it.”

1973
Stories about fuel economy and gas shortages became common in late 1973
and early 1974. At that time, it was a shock when gas prices climbed to 55 cents per gallon. The new national speed limit would be 55 miles per hour.

$3.48
EIA's projection, as of June 10, 2014, for the average retail price of regular-grade gasoline for June to December 2014 is $3.48 per gallon. The projection for the average retail price in 2015 is $3.38 per gallon.
Hotel Ansorge

The Ansorge Hotel is a turn of the 20th century two-story hotel located in Curlew, Washington. It was built in 1903 next to the Great Northern Railway. The hotel still has the bay windows and stamped sheet metal siding which looks like brick.[2] Included in the many patrons of the hotel over the course of its operation is Henry Ford who stayed while visiting relatives in the region.[3]
It has been restored and contains many of the original fixtures and
furniture. It is operated as a museum, open on summer weekends.[2]

"This, then, is the state of the union:
free and restless, growing and full of hope.
So it was in the beginning.
So it shall always be, while God is willing,
and we are strong enough to keep the faith."
- Lyndon B. Johnson

Title: 2007 Zaca Fire
Date: Friday July 4, 2014
Time: 11:30 am - 11:30 am (GMT-08.00) Pacific Time (US & Canada)
Location: San Rafael Mountains/Santa Barbara County
Notes: At about this time in 2007, workers grinding an irrigation pipe accidentally started a fire that would burn through 240,207 acres of the Santa Barbara Backcountry throughout the better part of four months and cost $117 million to fight.
No structures were lost although the fire did menace the Santa Barbara Front before being contained on the south side.
This fire is the second largest in California history second only to the 2003 Cedar Fire in San Diego County.
