Kathys Pelican Party

Pacific NW News with Photos above and below by Kathy

It's a pretty cool sight to see pelicans - especially since I live a few hours from the coast.  It does add variety to my hikes/rides when I spot things a bit out of the normal.  This osprey is a different photo from the other day.  The baby is a bit more visible.  Again, look down and to the left of the raptor in the nest.  The beam is hiding the youngster, but you can see more than just an eye this time.  Within a week or so, the babe should be peering over the nest.
Capturing the pelicans in flight was something out of the norm, and while some may have been upset they flew off, I used that as an opportunity to catch subjects on the move - a fast move!  It didn't take long before they were out of sight.  As far as the doe is concerned, she was wary, but since we made the choice to stay in the truck, she didn't bolt.  Eventually she wandered into some thick brush that completely covered her.  We knew she was there, and we did the smart thing: we let her be.  All in all, it was an enjoyable outing.  Hope these brighten your day!

How we lived 100 years go. 30 more years and that will be my time to show images as I am coming up on 69. Lots of nice shots in this book of books. Of course there are a zillion more and that doesn't include the ones on the floor that didn't make the cut. Its hard tossing a photo from taken even in the 10970's. I know. Ive done it.

Keep Your School Safe From Fires on July 4th.

Schools have open play areas and sports fields that attract the attention of people looking for a place to light fireworks. If you see someone discharging fireworks on a school property, report it immediately to the local authority.

Preventing fires is everyone’s responsibility. Check the rules where you will be discharging your fireworks. To prevent fires on school properties School Districts should:

Maintain the property by removing dry vegetation and refuse that can catch on fire.
Establish and post rules regarding the use of consumer fireworks on school properties on and around the Fourth of July. Ensure the neighborhood and surrounding community are aware of these rules.

School buildings are a valuable community resource. During the summer months, vegetation on school properties can dry out and catch fire easily.

Remember, personal fireworks require personal responsibility. For more information about fireworks safety, public fireworks displays, and the fireworks laws for your area, check the Celebrate Safely website at http://www.wsp.wa.gov/fire/fireworks.htm

Where Do Old Bumper Cars Go? The ones in Coney Island and Rockaway Park back in the 20’s thru to the 50;s ran on electric .  Had a pole on the back going to a metal electrical charged overhead plate.Remember driving the bumper cars at amusement parks or
A fair, don't you? They were so much fun.....

Well, now what do you do with old Bumper Cars?

Matthew 7:7-11
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Which one of you would hand his son a stone when he asks for a loaf of bread,

or a snake when he asks for a fish?

If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good things to those who ask him.
