I wish I could take pictures as good as Rick..

California gets rain? Not really. Only Norcal gets less than a tenth of an inch and not in the right places. After coming in from an old hurricane that hit the Islands , it shot straight up through Oregon and Washington.

So a few weeks ago I went to Spokane for a half marathon. There was over 600 runners and I spoke with many who said they traveled hours just to go to the race. Why not start a race in republic that would bring people here? It takes a lot of volunteers and planning, but if we did a course that was a 5k, 10k, and half marathon I think we could get a lot of people here. Think hotel stays, restaurants, the bar and brewery for after the race. It might have some potential for our little town, not to mention those who will then talk about how pretty it is here and come back.

Reminder! The C. V. Starr Community Center will be hosting their Annual Halloween Party on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 5:30pm-7:30pm. Swim for a pumpkin in the aquatic pumpkin patch. (pumpkins for the first 100 participants)(Observers with their kids or grandkids are admitted at no charge. This is a drop-in event, pay when you go.
