Bought my son a sled at Hardings this afternoon. He was so happy, carried it around while we were running errands. Unfortunately as we were loading into the car, the sled got left behind on Main Street. The sled was left outside near Hardings and where Bloomers used to be. I already called Hardings, but the sled was already gone. If anyone picked up the long blue plastic sled, not knowing the story, please take it back to Hardings and let them know it belongs to a little boy named Deco. Thank you!

Four ski resorts in the Inland Northwest will be open this weekend. Only Mt. Spokane Ski & Snowboard Park has not announced an opening day. 49° North Mountain Resort near Chewelah will open to skiers and snowboarders Friday, as will Lookout Pass on the Idaho-Montana border.
Silver Mountain Resort in Kellogg will open Saturday. Schweitzer Mountain Resort near Sandpoint opened Saturday and will resume operations Friday.

That's more than enough motivation in this famed rivalry, and Cody Kessler put his name into Irish football lore while he led the Trojans' romp.
Kessler passed for 372 yards and threw two of his six touchdown passes to George Farmer, propelling USC to a 49-14 victory over Notre Dame on Saturday in the 85th edition of the intersectional matchup.

The police officer who killed Michael Brown has resigned from the Ferguson Police Department, nearly four months after the confrontation that fueled protests in the St. Louis suburb and across the nation. Darren Wilson has been on administrative leave since the Aug. 9 shooting.

A Coast Guard crew has towed in a fishing vessel taking on water near the mouth of the Columbia River.
The agency said Friday the Hornet was about three miles west of the river entrance when the crew radioed for help, saying the vessel was disabled.
A motor boat crew delivered it to a marina in Ilwaco, Washington, where the craft was to be checked out and repaired if necessary. It's based in Newport, Oregon.
