The Seahawks are going to the Big Bopper for the second year in a row. Everyone including this BLOG is in support...I have 12th man everywhere....but word is it will not be in flag format on the Spokane clock tower. Local company, All Access Productions will be trying to project a 12th Man image onto the clock tower. This should be interesting. I have a buddy who has done this with success but he lives in Cally. They start on Thursday of this week....Jan 22nd. Believe it or not the city put a 12th man flag Outside of City Hall.

SLIGHTLY LESS QUIET: Solar activity is still low. However, an active region just behind the sun's southeastern limb is beginning to crackle with C-flares solar flares. This slight uptick in flare activity could herald something more as the unseen sunspot rotates to face Earth in the days ahead. Stay tuned for updates.SLIGHTLY LESS QUIET: Solar activity is still low. However, an active region just behind the sun's southeastern limb is beginning to crackle with C-flares solar flares. BRIGHT ASTEROID FLYBY: A large asteroid is about to fly past Earth. On the night of Jan. 26-27, mountain-sized space rock 2004 BL86 will be only 3 times farther from us than the Moon. There's no danger of a collision, but the flyby will be easy to observe. Sunlight reflected from the surface of 2004 BL86 will make it glow like a 9th magnitude star. Amateur astronomers with even small backyard telescopes will be able to see it zipping among the stars of the constellation Cancer.

In a couple of weeks voters in our area will be receiving ballots for a Maintenance and Operation Levy. This is NOT a new tax and will not increase the taxes property owners already pay.
This is money that goes directly to maintaining our school and supporting the children who live in this community. When we pass an M&O Levy, the state kicks in nearly $150,000. If we don't pass the levy, we don't get that money from the state.
For those of you who don't have children in school please remember, this levy helps maintain the largest public building in our region. Many of us have relied on our school facilities for our meetings and gatherings. In order to have reliable sound systems, available kitchen facilities, and working restrooms, we need to help pay for it. Please vote YES

A young Spokane man died of complications of influenza. He was only 37 years old. He was hot dog vendor. He was in training to be a Spokane bus driver. He got to drive the bus for one day. His boss said you could talk to 10,000 people and not one would say anything bad about this fella.he was in good health otherwise. And he had his flu shot. This is a sad story to tell. Chad Rattray, dead at 37 makes the 6th locally this year.
