RCMP say 45-year-old Peter DeGroot, who is known to police is still at large

“We would like to thank the citizens of Slocan for their assistance in this difficult time,” said RCMP Cst. Kris Clark in a statement.
“Considering that an armed suspect remains at large, we must continue to ask residents to remain inside for their own safety.”

Police say the man is believed to be armed with multiple firearms.

Over the last 12 hours the Southeast District Emergency Response Team was successful in evacuating homes. As well, they safely extricated a member and some residents using their Tactical Armoured Vehicle within the containment zone overnight.
Police were also able to search the suspect's residence which resulted in the seizure of a number of firearms.
Police asking for continued support of the public and the media by not discussing police movements and positioning on social media.

Who will be right?TV is calling for drastic. This is a
bit colder but no drastic according to weather.Next Friday
isnt looking good but who wants snow? The resorts. It's
how they make their money.

Eugene Oregon home of the Ducks will be happy. The ducks
will be happy. It looks like rain but in the mountains maybe
snow. Unfortunately they don't grown much in Eugene.

Bend Oregon is looking at coloer later in the week of next
but that rain doesn't look serious.

Here is where the rain is needed but temps nor rain look in the cards...This first and next
couple of weeks tells a sad tale. No El Nino/ It aint good

Out of Bakersfield and Fresno we are looking at one day of possible rain!!!!

Friday, October 10, 2014, 4:32 PM - El Niño is forecast to begin in the next 1-2 months and last into the spring of 2015 in the Northern Hemisphere.
The weather event has been making headlines months, despite the fact that meteorologists now predict this year's El Niño  will be 'weak' in nature.

Going Home

We have a lot of fun putting these newsletters or blogs together each day. We have no lack of good photographers, but we do tend to stick to our pros Rick Price of Alberta. Actually Rick was born in Medicine Hat Alberta.and we have Ron Rattray who presently not been doing a whole lot of photography. He lives in Grand Forks British Columbia and has been a regular since 1992.Kathy Meader our associate editor is out with walking pneumonia if you can believe that. I'm hoping she gets over her illness before winter actually sets in . This all depends on whether or not there is going to be a winter this year. I am sure that something will come. Scientists are talking about a El Niño that is weak. They claim that although they are not experts people call them ask for it they don't know where the E Nino is going to do. They doubt very much whether it's going to help the drought in California.bI did notice that the first storm coming into California comes in around Fort Bragg and Mendocino County and immediately heads north missing the rest of the state., It's next stop is Eugene Oregon and looking at weather.com I see that Eugene is about to have one of its worst winters in ages. Oh I have a good reporter out there in Brandon Bowen my son-in-law and PJ my daughter both her who Very good photographers. They have three children who take pics. Most of our work comes from pics  hope you enjoy it and we hope you keep coming back every day thank you so much Bob Shannon
