Two neighboring states are asking the U.S. Supreme Court to strike down Colorado's laws legalizing recreational marijuana.
Nebraska and Oklahoma filed the lawsuit directly with the nation's highest court on Thursday. The two states argue that, "the State of Colorado has created a dangerous gap in the federal drug control system."
"Marijuana flows from this gap into neighboring states, undermining Plaintiff States' own marijuana bans, draining their treasuries, and placing stress on their criminal justice systems," the lawsuit states.

Since our last post, we have gotten a little more resolution on the prospects of seeing a White Christmas across the Inland Northwest. But before we answer that question we need to deal with a weak weather system on Thursday night and Friday and then a much stronger system for the weekend. As of our latest forecast (issued 3pm Wednesday) the Thursday night and Friday system is calling for light snow, mainly confined to the mountains. Valley snow chances will be reserved for the Cascade valleys, Okanogan Valley, and Waterville Plateau. These locations will generally see amounts ranging from 1-3 inches.

The C.P. Holiday Train, travels across Canada and collects food donation at each location it stops at. Entertainment is included and the food collected stays in each community it was collected in." Janice Smith

Janice lives in Alberta Canada. She is a big outdoors woman born and raised. She raises her own horse and rides it like a pro. She canoes, hikes and climbs mountains. She is a Wonder Woman in my book. She also takes excellent pictures of outdoors and nature. The train above is one of hers. We publish them ever so often.

WASHINGTON  - The White House says evidence shows the hack against Sony Pictures was carried out by a "sophisticated actor" with "malicious intent."

But spokesman Josh Earnest is declining to blame North Korea. Earnest says he doesn't want to get ahead of investigations by the Justice Department and the FBI.
President Barack Obama has granted clemency to 20 people, including two from Oregon.

Obama granted a pardon to David Mannix of Lafayette. He was sentenced in 1990 by U.S. Marine Corps general court-martial to 75 days' confinement and reduction in rank for theft of military property.

Also Wednesday, the president reduced the sentence of Barbara Scrivner of Portland. She was 29 when she was sentenced in 1995 to 30 years in federal prison for a drug crime.

The website for the group Families Against Mandatory Minimums says the harsh sentence combined with a lifetime of abuse and addiction led Scrivner to jump from a 40-foot prison building. She overcame the near-death experience to pursue a degree in biblical studies and speak to teenagers about the dangers of drug abuse.

In case you're one of those who don't read every day, Jane and I wish you a Merry Christmas. This year we got a chance to stop asking for donations. We took the chance. This online paper will now be entirely free. We do not wish to publish the account, as it is personal. It was not a big deal, just nice for those who can't afford to donate. We have been trying to pay for our own website for years. It wasn't easy. I most certainly didnt win the lottery or even a big scratch, cus i don't buy them. Waste of money. I have a lot of web space. In fact, I could play a few full length movies if it were legal. We ALWAYS stay with the word of God,  and as a good Catholic couple, we truly wish you have a great New Years. Gods Blessings to you all. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen
